I have been reading Adele Broadbent's books for 10 years now and am so impressed with her sixth novel, If Only.
The Hawke's Bay author's writing just gets better and better. The characters in her latest novel and the way she intertwines the story with an excellent environmental organisation is brilliant.

Linda Hall - NZ Herald

This beautifully honest and perfectly captured teenage experience touches all the elements of a sensitive and complex time, offering insight and understanding for us all.

Dave Tucker - Librarian

If Only will make a great 'stepping stone' for older readers moving away from middle-grade fiction and into the often darker world of young adult.

'There was a welcome bit of Mahy in this character, (Martha Mischefski) a bit of the uncanny, something like one of the witches from The Changeover.'

'I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and I'd recommend it to kids of all ages - I'd say 10+'

Sarah Forster - The Sapling - NZ Book Council

'I struggled to put this book down because I couldn't predict what would happen next and I really enjoyed it. I give this book 10/10'
