More and more, we see books that are simply 'Works of Art'.

Cookbooks are beautifully photographed and set out, children's book illustrations are simply stunning, and even the humble puzzle book can now be found in gorgeous formats.

I would love a few of these Boox so I could enjoy my favourite Children's Book Art even more.

I was surfing the net this week, when I found a post about funny, cute, and weird things found in books. Whether it be at a garage sale, or in a library book, a previous owner or reader of the book had used something special or different to mark their page.

Why was I looking for stuff about hidden book treasures?
I have my own story to tell.

One afternoon while sitting in a school library, I had a box of new books at my feet.  I was visiting from Beattie & Forbes Booksellers and had just shown the librarian through the selection I had for the month.

While she went to check something on her computer, I picked up a book at random and absently ran my thumb across the pages, flicking through it while I waited. To my surprise, I saw something as the pages flicked by - and this is what I found.

Who left it there? I never found out of course.
I still have this note which I keep in my office, and I still have the $5 Australian Dollars which is worth much more to me as a good luck charm than the $ worth.
